Most people never wonder how the readings tie together on any particular Sunday. In general, and there are exceptions, there is a common theme, a lesson to explore.

This is a place to review those themes, even before Sunday, to better understand what is being said by the readings. The readings are divided into cycles A,B and C and there are four readings per mass. Advent to Advent is one cycle. 2007 is cycle C.

This is not for the faint of heart. Understanding the ties can require some quiet time and prayer. I have tried to make the text understandable and clear. It is my failure if it is not. You will need to know which Sunday of the year it is to find the correct readings.

Links are provided to the Bishop's web site for every reading. Note you Need to read only the designated verses for that Sunday, but knowing the whole story, in its context is my goal for the readings and psalms.
